About the event

Our next CoP will be facilitated by Vern Neufeld Redekop, former CICR president and author of  "From Violence to Blessing." It will be a unique opportunity to reflect on your practice and presence during conflict and as a Third-Party Neutral intervener: TPN Reflexivity: Awakening Self-Awareness of Orientation, Identity Narrative, and Practical Wisdom (Applied Spirituality)

  • As a TPN, who am I in relation to the people in front of me who are in conflict?
  • What happens when I apply what I have learned about leading a process and about conflict to myself?
  • What brought me to the present moment, and what is my intention for the current process?
  • When all hell breaks loose, where do I find the inner strength to proceed with equanimity?
  • What are my own areas of vulnerability?
  • How do I deal with the paradox that, as a human being, I share humanity and connection with others, and yet my own inner set of values, taboos, and biases might be totally different?

Also, Prof. Redekop will introduce critical concepts that will be explored in depth during the 3-day reflective workshop on February 6-8: Identity-Based Conflict Seminar. Find more info about the Seminar and register here: cicr-icrc.ca/ibc-seminar

During the in-person Reflective Seminar, Vern will share insights on identity, spirituality and reconciliation gathered over decades of work (and 20 years after his publishing of "From Violence to Blessing," a foundational text for CICR in the teaching of human identity needs and a core component of the Third-Party Neutral program).

Remarkable participants will be invited to these learning communities. Don't miss these exceptional opportunities!

It is an online event. Please join us online (the Zoom link will be shared with registered participants before the event). RSVP today to save your spot!
