You did not specify if you had an invitation and mandate from you family members to mediate the case. If the answer to this is yes, then you have to ask yourself if you are up to the task.
Looking for the answer will include being honest about your own biases, about the issue and people involved, history of your personal involvement in the dispute and how it eventually might reflect on your efforts to mediate. You also need to be concerned about the possible outcomes and the fact that, although trained in mediation you have limited experience.
Mediating your own family cases is considered to be one of the most difficult tasks for all these reasons. You need to use good judgment if you are going to mediate this case.
What you can do is lead the parties through a conciliation process (i.e. by meeting with the parties separately) and help them work on the issues and think through their options. If you decide to start with conciliation as the first step of your involvement, you will have more exposure as a neutral with your family members which should provide you with insights and facilitate your follow-on mediation and final decision making.
