We are excited to announce our guest presenter for our Alumni and Friends gathering on Wednesday, April 28th, 2010 starting at 6:00 pm in the Normandin Room, Laframboise Hall, Saint Paul University.
***These gatherings are open to all current participants, graduates and friends.
We are pleased to have with us Dr. Ben Hoffman, who will speak to us about his experiences which are chronicled in his new book Peace Guerilla: Unarmed and in Harm’s Way, My Obsession with Ending Violence. You will also be able to purchase an autographed copy of his book.
Peace Guerilla is a vivid memoir that illuminates the process of dealing with fearsome brutal leaders one would be afraid to have dinner with – and why we should do so. There is tension when Hoffman, as President Jimmy Carter’s representative, travels deep into the African bush in Sudan to meet face to face with Joseph Kony, a violent war lord who was abducting children in Uganda to be soldiers in his Lord’s Resistance Army and terrorizing the population… You won’t want to miss our evening with Ben.
We are also pleased to have Thomas Tegtmeyer, a 160 hour graduate will share with us short 10 minute exercises to improve our self care and boost our energy.
CICR will provide beverages, veggies & dip and cheese & crackers. For those who wish to bring a dish you are most welcome, CICR will provide plates & cutlery. CICR will also be available if you wish to arrive before 6:00 pm to set up a table of information.
