Brian Strom

 

Brian Strom, Trainer of TPN 2 – Developing Facilitation Skills of Groups in Conflict

 

Brian Strom has been the Executive Director of CICR since April 2005. Brian started teaching for CICR in 1993 and in 1995 co-developed TPN 2 – Developing Facilitation Skills of Groups in Conflict with Jean Ogilvie. 

                                                                                                

An Honoured Fellow of CICR, Brian became a Board member in 1999 and Chair of the Board of Directors from 2003 to 2005.   In 2002 he piloted the first TPN 1 – Becoming a Third Party Neutral in Taiwan with Dr. Steve Chen. Over the years Brian’s interest has gravitated more towards organizational, community and faith-based conflicts.

 

Brian has been in the field of conflict resolution for 21 years. Prior to CICR, he received his first training in interest-based negotiation in 1988 and was involved in helping to develop the farm debt mediation program for farmers in the late 80’s. After 24 years with Farm Credit Canada, Brian started his own facilitation and mediation consulting practice, in 1993.

 

Brian holds a BSc in agriculture economics and is a member of the International Association of Facilitators.
