Indonesia

At the request of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), CICR was contracted to work with Indonesian civil society to map the key elements of civil unrest in and around Jakarta and develop a skill training program to support NGOs in dealing with conflicts they confronted in their daily work.  CICR, through Brian McQuinn and Kendel Rust, initially provided conflict resolution training to NGOs in Jakarta.  A follow-on training was held, at the Satunama Training Center, for NGOs in the Jogjakarta area.  Discussions are currently underway with Satunama for the provision of a conflict resolution training program for key community leaders in Papua.
