Created in 1988 as a non-profit, charitable organization, the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution (CICR) provides training and intervention programs in Canada and internationally in Austria, Rwanda, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sudan, Taiwan and other countries.
It has developed unique programs, interventions tools and participatory workshops to help businesses, communities, and organizations uncover the sources of deep-rooted conflict and begin the process of reconciliation.
The Institute has pioneered an approach that has served as the framework for programs such as the conflict resolution and cultural awareness training in hospitals and intervention work in all types of institutional, not-for-profit and for-profit organizations. All of CICR's programs and interventions are offered in both official languages.
To empower and build capacity in individuals, communities and organizations to resolve conflicts peacefully.
